Acid stained concrete is a relatively new concept in our part of the country but has been around since the early 1900’s. There is a growing trend in flooring begun several years ago towards low maintenance, health conscious and beautiful appearance only found in acid stained concrete. And the best part is that it is very affordable, about half the cost of hardwood flooring or high grade tile or slate.

Acid staining transforms ordinary gray concrete into magnificent marbleized surfaces of unique colors and appearance. Uniqueness is a common theme for these type of floors as no two slabs stain exactly the same. In other words, your acid stained floor would be unique to any other stained concrete in existence. Imagine having a floor that is like none other !
Not only does this process create beautiful color and varigation…but is durable ! Acid staining does not chip, peel off or pop out. Acid stain reacts chemically with the concrete to permanently color the top layer of concrete. This is not some topical painted on process much like concrete paint or paint stain applications that are purchased at the local hardware or “DIY” store. The acid stain reacts with the free lime deposits in the concrete via a chemical reaction that permanately etches the color into the slab. Therefore, durability is not an issue with acid stained concrete !
